Whale Shark Ocean

Every year from around October to March, whale sharks gather in the plankton-rich waters off Kilindoni. We head out by boat with a spotter on the lookout, and when a shark is found you slide in quietly and swim alongside it at the surface.

No diving experience is needed — if you can snorkel, you can do this. Our guides follow the marine park guidelines: small groups in the water, no touching and plenty of space, so the sharks stay relaxed and the encounter stays special.

November to February is usually the most reliable window. Tell us your dates and we'll advise you on the best morning to go.
